Spain |
|
 |
Home of Rioja & Ribera Del Duero,
this country's wines are often overlooked here in the USA.
Initial imports to the US market were not the best in class, now
twnety years later we have access to many small producers and
unique blends of the native varietals.
Spanish wines are old world styled,
soft oak notes offer structure without being overbearing,
allowing terroir and fruit to show through.

Although we haven't made
the pilgrimage yet, we are looking forward to the tour of
Italy's great wine country. From Verona & Aldige in the north to
the western tips of Sardinia and the southern vineyards of
Sicily, great wines that reflect the ancient art of wine making
in every bottle.
We offer a limited
selection from around the country, and we will continue to keep
an eye out for the fresh & unusual! Review our current selection on this page by clicking on the grapes. |

Argentina & Chile |
 |
The delicious
wines from Chile and Argentina are developing quite the buzz in
the industry, each year new and exciting wines from the newest
generations of winemakers are coming to the market! The big
producers are Argentina & Chile. Both have benefitted from the
joint venture projects with the best winemakers in the world
from Mondavi to Lafitte.
The most notable wines are Malbecs. We learned from their
winemakers of the efforts to develop the local vineyards, moving
the direction of planting 5 degrees a season, of working a
variety of canopy management techniques until they settled on
canopies that shield the grape clusters except between 9:30 -
11:30 AM each day. Producing excellent vineyards that can grow
great fruit at a variety of altitudes from 1,500 to 5,000 feet.
There flavor profiles range widely, but focus on ripe
blackberry, leather, tobacco, cardamom, cinnamon and pepper.
New world wine fans have found that the wines are easy to
approach and even easier to purchase with price points usually
under $20 for some of the better bottlings.

France |
 |
The
old lady of the wine business continues to produce the greats of
Bordeaux, Champagne, Burgundy and more. France can be
challenging to us because the labels are different than our
general USA versions. The heritage, reputation and terroir
of a producer's vineyard is the value of the label in France.
Come spend time with us
and keep an eye out for our France 101 tastings to learn more of
the fundamentals of a wine country that brings wines like
Chateau Petrus, Cheval Blanc, and more! |
